Go Above and Beyond the Rack for Great Style

Beyond the Rack is an excellent website to find those out-of-reach brands not found in your everyday store.  The website features sales on select brands and items exclusive on particular days.  For instance, it features great brands like Michael Kors to pre-owned luxury items like Chanel and Louis Vuitton.  Beyond the Rack always features those great luxury brands in which most folk are unfamiliar with, like Madison Marcus.  Their prices are usually fair, but today, they are having their Sweetest Deals of the Season sale. Starting today at 5 pm ET, their 90% off sale begins! This is surely an event not to miss.

Beyond the Rack is membership based.  Just create and account and, voilà! You have access to all their exclusive shopping events. You also get $10 to spend just for signing up! The best part is, you don't have to throw punches over a boot or start fashion cat fights to get what you want at these events.

Feeling a Little Gilty?

Gilt City is one of the greatest ways to find some stellar deals on the most luxurious stores in your city. It is basically your high-end Groupon.  Participating cities join with Gilt City to bring great deals to the city-folk while keeping up their high-end images. For instance, in my time in San Francisco, on April 6, 2012, the San Francisco Fashion Film Festival was being held. Gilt City offered exclusive prices for the VIP Opening Party to packages for Unlimited Access Passes and VIP Opening Party Admission.  Currently in San Francisco, Gilt City is offering inexpensive tickets to the Unveiled: Bridal Style Revealed where a live Vera Wang fashion show will be held.

Gilt City features select cities and always has deals on fine dining, spa services, and entertainment in the city. Pick your city under the heading and check it out.  With great steals like this, I do feel a little 'gilty'...

Delivery!! Birchbox Is In! Sign Here For Your Package.

Recently I have learned about Birchbox Beauty Products and I haven't been this excited since my very first Bazaar magazine subscription.  Birchbox is a great way to test all of the latest and most luxurious beauty products at a very low cost.

For $10 a month, you get a box filled with full size sample products from nail polishes to makeup, perfume to exclusive little goodies.  I'll walk you through my experience. I purchased a yearly subscription and received one birchbox free. Because of purchasing the yearly subscription, I received enough points for an extra $10 that I could spend!! My box did not come the first month so they gave me an extra $10! Wow, talk about service.

Upon arrival, I found a beautiful cardboard box with a lid. Everything inside was wrapped nicely in tissue paper and my goodies were inside. I received a perfume sample, exclusive two color earbuds, and an expensive Bananas Foster bar. There was another package in tissue paper filled with hair gloss, Ada bronzer, and Stila lip gloss. As you can see, all of these things: waaay more than $10. What a deal.

If you like what you see, you can go to their website and purchase their products. I've found that a lot of people sell the things they don't want on ebay so that's an inexpensive way to go. All boxes are different every month so you never know what you're going to get. It really is a surprise to look forward to in your mailbox!! I've even heard they have a birchbox for dogs....barkbox.

The Truth About Dillard's

Where I come from, the Neiman Marcus or Nordstrom of my little city is Dillard's.  People will ask me, "Where did you get that dress?!" and I gladly answer, "Dillard's! For only $15!!" People are shocked when I refer to Dillard's as an inexpensive department store, because on normal days, it is. This department store sells amazing designer items at expensive prices. But that's where I come in...

Sometimes, Dillard's has absolutely amazing clearance events and sales!! They usually just want to get rid of all their clothes immediately for new seasons and therefore mark things down extremely cheap. Currently Dillard's has anything from 40-65% off with an extra 30-40% off!! Deal? I think so. I got a designer dress for $31, regular $100. That's pretty much 70% off!! And this is just the beginning of their sale. Usually after a type of sale like this, they have even better sales right after, such as 65% with an extra 40%.  I know I got my Formal Dance dress for $8 in high school from Dillard's. And I was still one of the fairest of them all at the dance.

Good Will Hunting

Alright, I know what you're thinking...Goodwill? Yes. Goodwill. Goodwill is one of the largest thrift stores in the world and what you need to know is where the goods are. A while ago, I became acquaintances with one of the daughters of the CEO's of the Goodwills in my hometown state. She told me a little about their story and the way they distribute their clothing to their stores. Basically, the really amazing designer brands that are found in most locations are shipped to areas of higher income or reputable areas. I didn't think anything of it, but my other friends told me about this distribution as well...so I had to check it out.

After hearing what she had to say I went on over to my own Goodwill and found some cute clothes, nothing designer but nevertheless cute. I was excited to find a fully functioning Watermelon Red Version of a Nintendo 64 with matching controllers for $4!!

Some time after my venture to my Goodwill in my little town, I went on a trip with my friends to the big city. My friends demanded we go hit the Goodwills in the city because they were having a sale: $2 for all pairs of shoes and $2 on all denim. I did not want to go, but to my surprise: Lucky Brands, Miss Me, Joe's Jeans, so many designer brands of jeans for only $2!! My friends also informed me of the designer rule of Goodwill: nicer area = nicer clothes. The shoes were actually happening as well, as if I was in Ross. I did pick up some boots for $2. They were very clean and I Lysoled them up for good measure. I also found vintage hard shell clutches for a couple dollars and I get complements on them all the time.  I visited two Goodwills in the big city and they were all happening like crazy! You still have to look through the clothing to find the great stuff, but the treasure is definitely there.

So bottom line:
-there ARE designer items in Goodwill; they are found in more expensive areas
-Goodwill has clearance sales every so often, such as $1 bottoms and $2 denim. Check their website to find
if an event is coming in your Goodwill Store area:

Ulta is Extra Ultra

This sale has also been going on for quite some time, but if you haven't stepped in yet, I recommend doing so. Right now at Ulta, many items are on clearance as well as an amazing sale on their Ulta brand of cosmetics. A lot of items are anywhere from 20-50% off, such as O.P.I. nail polishes or Sexy Hair products.   There are a lot of various luxury items so you should go check it out.

Their main steal is their sale on the Ulta brand of cosmetics.  Their $8 nail polishes are now $2, $8 Automatic Eye Liners are $1, $14 Mineral Powder Foundation is now $5, the list goes on and on!  I picked up some $2 nail polishes in Pinata-Yada- Yada and High Roller. They are very pretty and I recommend those two colors. If you're a fan of lipstick, you should definitely some up for $2 a piece, regular $8. The Ulta brand is pretty reputable. The darker colors go great and the young women working there said she uses the Ulta brand everyday.  The lighter colors are less bold.  I also picked up some Extreme Wear Mousse Foundation for $5, regular $12.50. I highly recommend this as it is light, fluffy, easily blending, and makes my face extremely smooth and soft.  The store manager also said this was fantastic.  I received fair warning to steer clear of the liquid foundations as it tends to melt right off your face if you have oily skin.

Pretty much all of their Ulta products are on this great sale so you should check it out in store or online:

Au Revoir For Now, Tokidoki!

One of my most cherished brands, Tokidoki is now on clearance at Sephora and sephora.com.  Most items are about 50-60% while there are some crazy great steals such as Arte Palettes for $6 when they are a $48 value.  If you purchase more than $50, you receive free 3-day shipping. You also receive three free samples and points on your Beauty Insider account! Whoever said stealing was a sin, never knew how satisfying it is. ;)

To Tokidoki at Sephora

If you are not familiar with Tokidoki, it is an art brand created by Italian artist Simone Legno. His artwork is characterized with cute Japanese flair, beautiful bold colors, and busy scenes.  It is truly unique and I have been in love with Tokidoki since I was 12 years old.

I was informed that the Tokidoki items are discontinuing at Sephora, so get them while they are at such a hot price and before they are gone!
